I am Joseph (Joe) Gartenmayer born *1974, in Russellville/Arkansas (USA). My first contact with a Camera was in 1988. When I started Photographing, as an autodidact.

Currently I am Living and Working in Schmitten/TS. - Germany (Located close to Frankfurt am Main).

Started with the Street & Social Documentary Photgraphy and the Popular Culture after my active Skateboard riding time and the Impressions of the big European Punk and Electro Scene, through the 1980/90´s. I want to Picture, the Banalities of Everyday Life. What will maybe, end up as a Social Documentary Report of a Gentrified Environment of an Urban City like Frankfurt am Main.

I’ve been influenced by Stephen Shore (Uncommon Places 1970´s) and Joel Sternfeld (American Prospects 1987).
And their great documantary work “ordinary scenes of everyday life”.
